Folie
à Deux: The novel alternates between the present in New Orleans during Mardi
Gras and the very early 19th century, also in New Orleans. In New Orleans for Mardi
Gras, Duncan masquerades as Jean Lafitte, just as he had done two centuries
before. Déjà vu strikes as old resemblances and old grudges pull him into the
Immortal privateer's plots again and Joe Dawson and Methos are along for the
ride.
Parts
Unknown: Paris in winter can be very cold, and the barge an icebox. Escaping to
the South Pacific, Duncan discovers a view of Connor he had never known when he
meets up with an old friend of his mentor’s. The arrival of Joe Dawson on the
scene and a tug-of-war over some very important documents left behind by Connor
complicate matters. The novel alternates between the present in Paris, New
Caledonia, and Australia—primarily Australia —and the late 18th century in
Australia.
