A Stargate
SG-1 gen fanzine with a twist. The existence of alternate realities has
been firmly established as “canon” on the show. Our authors have taken an episode
and rewritten it in some way, creating an alternate universe. Or they have
written a completely original tale about an alternate reality SGC. Some stories
are totally AU and some involve “our” SG-1 going through the quantum mirror.
There seems to be some confusion sometimes over the concept of the zine. Simply put, these are “what if” stories. What if something in an episode had happened differently? What if one of the team members was somehow different? Forks in the road with a different path taken.
A big thank you to Tiv’ester and Sanna for approaching
me with the idea of this zine.

to their heads. An AU version of “Upgrades.”
Whom the Gods Would Destroy by Graculus: An AU version of “Legacy” … and
perhaps more.
Precipice by
Xochiquetzl: An AU version of “Summit” wherein
Daniel faces off with Osiris and confronts a few truths about himself.
Unexpected Variations by SG1Storyteller: An AU version of “Point of
View.” The two travelers who come through the quantum mirror are familiar…and
yet very, very different in some unexpected ways.
Splintered Hearts by Nefret: SG-1 and Thor find an unexpected
“visitor” when an Asgard ship is discovered crashed on a planet.

Sentinel” was all a fairy tale …
Return of Soul by BabsN: Daniel returns to SG-1 when they
least expect it … but Jack wonders if bringing him home was the right thing to
do …
Here We Go Again by Tiv’ester: While Daniel is still
recovering from the near-fatal mission to Kelowna, Anubis attempts to destroy
the Stargate with an Ancient's device. Can Jack, Daniel, Sam and Teal'c stop
him before all life on Earth is gone? An AU version of “Redemption.” A novella.
The Eye of Tiamat by Seanchaidh: SG-1 sets out to find a missing
Russian team and find much more than they bargained for! An AU version of “The
Tomb.”
There is now a new all-slash version of Splinters
called “Off the
Record.”
Sadly,
I have had to cancel any further issues of Splinters due to a lack of sufficient
submissions. We have some great stories in Issue #1 and I hope you’ll give them
a try, if you haven’t already. The stories already scheduled for Issue #2 were
published in our regular genzine, Redemption.
